How long is the Massage Therapy program?
The program is 625 contact hours, taught full-time daytime over 26 weeks (about 6.5 months) in a hybrid format.
Will I be prepared for Alaska massage licensure?
The program is built to meet Alaska's 625-hour licensing requirement and prepare you to test for the MBLEx. New Seasons does not guarantee licensure eligibility — applicants are responsible for confirming individual eligibility with the Alaska Board of Massage Therapists.
What's the total cost to attend?
$7,999 payable to the school (covers application fee, tuition, and the mandatory supply kit with textbooks). Plan for approximately $1,150 in additional outside costs — MBLEx, CPR, license fees, supplies, and background check.
Do you offer financial aid?
New Seasons does not offer federal financial aid. We do offer in-house payment plans with monthly installments, and we may honor outside grants and scholarships students have been awarded.
What are the admission requirements?
You must be 18 or older, have a high school diploma or equivalent (or homeschool/foreign-credential equivalent), submit a valid U.S. government-issued photo ID, complete the application, and pay the $100 application fee.
Is the program hybrid?
Yes. Live in-person classes are held Monday and Tuesday with lab/practicum on Wed/Thu/Fri/Sat in two group options. Online distance coursework is scheduled by the student. Hours earned via hybrid online distance education may not be accepted for reciprocity in other states.
How big are the classes?
Our maximum student-to-instructor ratio is 12:1, with most groups running 6–8 students per instructor for personalized hands-on instruction.
What if I have prior massage training?
We accept between 150 and 468 transfer hours from like-kind courses with a grade of C or better, completed within the last two years. All assessments must be completed before the first day of instruction.
Do I need CPR certification?
Yes — current CPR certification (American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent) is required, and 2 hours of safety education in Bloodborne Pathogens and Universal Precautions.
When does the next cohort start?
The next start date is October 12, 2026, with projected graduation April 23, 2027.
Is the school authorized?
Yes — New Seasons School of Massage is authorized by the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education (ACPE).
